'Locks in Motion

There's so much Warlock goodness to be had, it's tough to ignore. Here's a look at one of the more famous, if not infamous 'locks out there. Some call him the best Destruction 'lock to have ever played the game. Some call him the most self-glorified, over-hyped, and over-rated Warlock to have graced the pages of YouTube. Most just call him Drakedog.

He's been around since near the very beginning I believe. YouTube just gave him exposure on a level he didn't have before.

His vids are about as good as his gameplay, which I think helps his rep a bit. =)

I've watched this vid before and its okay. It's enteraining, but most of it is big flashy crits against lesser geared opponents.

It DOES have a lot of 1v# fights which is good. Arena shots would have been better.

The fact that he RARELY relies on fears as a form of CC in his fights is astounding. He uses his succubus masterfully combined with shadowfury stuns. It's very rare to go up against a warlock and not get a fear/deatcoil combo atleast once per fight.

I'm sure he's very skilled, but it just seems like a lot of the fights in the vid aren't much of a challenge to him. I'd have rather seen him use he full extent of his skill than completely obliterate scrubs.

Pre-BC, most Destro-'locks played "in-your-face" like that and could get away with it. We were okay with using a minimal number of fears cause our burst dmg and longevity was enough to get us by when played well.

Post BC, that all changed. It became more efficient to rely on Seduce if you still wanted to nuke the shiz out of things. That way, you could save your mana (and therefore Lifetaps) for things other than Fear-kiting, which is really mana inefficient when all you're doing is tossing mana-hungry Destro spells. And Seduce creates a little less dmg-doing-downtime as well. Notice how Drake will cast Soul Fire even before his mob is Seduced -- a prime example.

Drakedog is good where you cant see it. He's very very very good with placing his keys and bindings effectively and thats what makes him a step above.

Where's YOUR pvp video? Or should I post our PTR adventures mr. REVELATION lol

lol nearly any pvp video is meant to show off your huge crits and best of moments... so you can't blame him for making his the same way.

destro never really sucked ass for pvp. pre bc it was a mana killer and debuff slot whore for raiding but was a pretty typical pvp specc.

he's lucky he's horde and doesnt have to come up against undeads in bg's (not talking about arena)... im pretty sure seduce and stun combos as a lock from ally pov is a bit tougher to master given undeads can break it with a trinket and racial... lol. damn do i miss WotF... but at least i can break out of frost nova with escape artist. WEEEE.
